Right here we go from the start.

As the car was first seen, not 300 metres from my house 6 years sat in a garage.

The day of the long move All of a 30 second drive

All tucked up in its new home

A few photos of the front end. Inner wings not too bad. The passenger side had already been started on and the drivers side had be shall we say worked on by an owner of the past, not he last owner though.

Work started today, hopefuly less then 6 months to finish

World cup X-member it and chassis tube mounts.

Todays work, well 2 hours anyway.

From a few small holes

To just one

Newspaper anyone??

The A post bottom corner looked a bit funny, so no point leaving it.

And this. I didn't spot it until looking at the photo. Spot more news paper

Time for some metal back in

Loads more to do

Rob

Once you've got that one fixed up I'll bring this one down from Scotland for you to have a go at fixing up, then we can have some real fun on track with proper RS's.

Just turned the engine over today, by hand, and still seems fine.

I'll have to learn how to weld and fabricate properly before I attempt the RS2, wouldn't want to end up with a bodged up job

Steve

Looks can be deceiving; it looks OK on the outside but not so good on the inside.

It’s not too bad, nothing that a week with a welder and some fresh metal wouldn't fix, oh and some skill. Not sure about the skill, can that be found on Ebay…LOL

More done or should that be more cut out.

Inner and outer sills done and floor repaired. A post and kick panel finished, didn't get an pics yet of that. Only some of the sill bits going in.

Move forward a bit and upward.
Strut top thought i may get away with leaving the old repair that had been done.
No i don't think so.

As it was. You may think looks a bit naff but ok.

With the repair top off.

Was nice to see nearly half the chassis number

Almost to the repair stage

Chassis number now on the dash

A few more repairs.

Strut top rebuilt

Top fitted

Moved a bit further towards the front and yes more filler and underseal

Almost at the end of the drivers side innerwing, slam panel ends are not the best.
So off with the end and in with some more metal.

Trial fit of the end, needs some extra adding

And more

Slam panel corner remade. Not to good at the panel beating lark. But i had a go.

And the extra bit added.

And around the corner. The front lower panel was not too bad but as i had a new one that came with the car. In it went.
I did find that the captive nuts for the ARB mount were well out of line. So they needed moving in by 10mm each side.

And just to make it look like i didn't have far to go. I popped a few panels on to see if it all lined up

No not heard from them.

Not had any chance to get much more done.

Rapaired the passenger side slampanel, i think it would have been easier to have just fitted the complete new one that came with the car

Blocked nose and sore throat are slowing down progress

Ended up cutting more out than putting in. Strut tower fitted in on the passenger side.

The passenger side wing rail had be removed before i got the car, so there was a lot of bit to straighten and thin steel to remove. Just need to get it put back on in the right place.

Been ill, out of the garage for almost 6 weeks.
So, a little progress.
Passenger side inner wing and A post had been worked on by the previous owner. Needed a bit of tweeking and bits adding. The wing rail has been a pain to line up :smash: and a few patches to add too.

Wing rail finaly on

And with the outer panels trial fitted :smokin:

Got a diff on order from Titan Motorsport, going for the same spec as Goldmember 45/45. Not sure on the pre load and don't know if it can be adjusted yet. Phone call toe the cage people tomorrow.

Tin worn banished from the passenger sill/floor.

And finaly sime mechanicals go on. Fitted the front suspension and wheels. Need to get it rolling as i need to turn it around so i can do the rear arches and rear panel. Then thats all the bodywork welding done and just the gearbox tunnel to widen.

Strut tops need altering to large size also and i need to get some top plates either RS ones or Group 4 ones. Not sure which ones.

Err no. Think is a comp only cage. Fits so close so in the event of a roll it should keep things stright ish.
I guess they could drop it 1/2" if asked. I'm not too bothered.
